Born in Hollywood, California, Scott Shaw emerged as an author during the 1970s. The first of his works to be published was his poetry and literary fiction. Soon after this his Zen Buddhist based writings began to be released by large publishing houses. In the 1980s, Shaw, a lifelong martial artist, emerged as one of the leading voices on the subject. Since that time industry leaders have continued to publish his articles and books on the physical and spiritual aspects of the martial arts.
