Privacy policy

Last updated June 2026

This policy explains what fraeon collects, why, and the control you have over it. We try to keep it in plain language. It's a starting template and should be reviewed by your own legal counsel before launch.

What we collect

Account information you give us: your email address, username, and anything you add to your profile such as a display name, bio or avatar.

Content you create: the titles you log, ratings, reviews, diary entries, lists, discussions, quotes and follows. Most of this is visible to others by design — that's the point of a public profile — and you control your account's visibility in settings.

Technical data: basic, standard information your browser sends (such as approximate region and device type) and, where enabled, analytics about how pages are used.

How we use it

To run your account, show your library and social activity, generate your statistics and recommendations, keep the service secure, prevent abuse, and improve fraeon. We do not sell your personal data.

Cookies, analytics and ads

fraeon uses a small number of cookies to keep you signed in. Where analytics or advertising are enabled, we use Google Consent Mode v2: analytics may run by default, but advertising cookies stay off until you accept them in the cookie banner. You can change your choice any time from the link in the footer.

When enabled, analytics is provided by Google Analytics and ads by Google AdSense, each of which processes data under its own policies.

Third parties we rely on

We host data with Supabase. Catalog information comes from TMDB, RAWG, Jikan (MyAnimeList) and Open Library. If you connect an optional integration (such as Steam), we fetch only what's needed to show it on your profile. These providers receive only the data required to do their job.

Your rights and choices

You can view and edit your profile, change your privacy settings, export or delete your lists and content, and delete your account entirely. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights to access, correct or erase your data — to exercise them, contact us.

Data retention

We keep your data while your account is active. When you delete content or your account, it's removed from the live service; routine backups may persist for a limited period before they cycle out.

Children

fraeon is not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). We don't knowingly collect data from them. See our Terms for more.

We'll update this policy as the product evolves and note the date at the top. Questions about your privacy? Email us.
