About this book

*Clara's War* is a memoir by Clara Kramer and Stephen Glantz which tells Kramer's story of her life in Nazi occupied Poland, where she and several other Polish Jews spent 20 months hiding in a bunker beneath a house in the town of Zhovkva. The book was first published by Ebury Press (Penguin Random House) in 2008, in the United Kingdon. The first USA edition was published by Harper/Ecco on 2009.

Clara Schwarz Kramer (born Chaya Schwarz; April 9, 1927, Żółkiew, Poland – September 11, 2018, Elizabeth, New Jersey) was a Polish-American Holocaust survivor, author, and public speaker. She is best known for her wartime diary, which detailed her 20-month ordeal hiding from the Nazis and formed the basis of her memoir, *Clara's War.*
