Margaret L. (Marge) Lial, born in Sacramento, California, was a dedicated teacher and accomplished college math textbook author. Marge was a Sac High Grad (Class of '45) and remained an active member of the Sac High reunion committee. She attended Sacramento City College, then UC Berkeley before leaving school to marry McClatchy grad Ed Lial. Marge loved to travel, especially to archaeological digs, and visited four continents and countless countries over the course of her life. Marge enjoyed and supported the arts, the Sacramento Kings, a Campus Commons wine group, and developed many wonderful friendships in everything she did. Raymond N. Greenwell

Raymond N. Greenwell earned a B.A. in Mathematics and Physics from the University of San Diego, and an M.S. in Statistics, an M.S. in Applied Mathematics, and a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from Michigan State University. Since 1983 he has been at Hofstra University, Hempstead, New York, where he is Professor Emeritus of Mathematics. He has published articles on statistics, fluid mechanics, mathematical biology, genetic algorithms, combinatorics, and undergraduate mathematics education. He is coauthor with Margaret L. Dr. Nathan P. Ritchey earned a B.A. in Mathematics with a minor in Music from Mansfield University of Pennsylvania. He earned an M.S. in Applied Mathematics and a Ph.D. in Mathematics from Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He is former chair of the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Youngstown State University, Youngstown, Ohio, and is currently a professor in the Department of Mathematics at Kent State University, Kent, Ohio.
