Torres was considered, by the Forbes-style Brazilian magazine ISTOÉ Dinheiro, "the Paulo Coelho of Computer Hardware." He received, in 2001 and 2003, Motion of Applauses and Congratulations from the Rio de Janeiro State Legislative Assembly "for the invaluable services for the development of the Brazilian Information Technology industry."
