Nikos Dimopoulos (1926 - March 13, 2012) was a Greek cinematographer, who is considered one of the most important cinematographers in Greece. He is best known, however, for his long-term collaboration with the company Finos Film, in which he participated in over 70 films. A great moment in his career is the film The Soil Was Painted Red (1966), which was nominated for a foreign language film for an Oscar. Nikos was the brother of Dinos Dimopoulos, the well-known Greek director. Dimopoulos started his career at the Finos Film company, in the early 50s, as a photographer's assistant at the time.
