Steven Breckon

Steven Breckon is a Los Angeles-based director of photography. He grew up in a family of commercial fishermen in Haida Gwaii and Southeast Alaska before studying marine ecology at the University of British Columbia; subsequently, he pursued cinematography and graduated with an MFA from the American Film Institute, where he received the Alfred P. Sloan Scholarship for his scientific background and creative promise.  Breckon's narrative cinematography credits include the psychological drama The Plague (2025), directed by Charlie Polinger, which premiered in the Un Certain Regard section of the Cannes Film Festival and received critical attention.
