Born to the renowned Indian writer Rajkishore Ray, she comes from a family with deep artistic roots. Her sister is Malavika Ray, and the prominent actress Aparajita Mohanty is her cousin. Ray is married to Sirish Routray, and together they have a son named Rishi Routray.
